Balasundaram, Chairman, Public Relations, of the Rotary Club of Chennai Velachery, conducted the Vocational Service Roadshows, along with officials of Dr. Reddy\'s Foundation in Rajalakshmi Nagar on Saturday, 19th July 2008 and in M.G.R. Nagar, Velachery and Bharathi Nagar, Madipakkam on Sunday, 20th July 2008.
On Saturday, 19th July 2008, Rtn. Sriram went around in a low-income locality at Rajalakshmi Nagar in Velachery, along with officials from Dr. Reddy\'s Foundation to popularize the job-oriented courses conducted by the Corporation of Chennai in co-operation with Dr. Reddy\'s Foundation. About 100 printouts were distributed, giving the details of the courses in B.P.O., Customer Relations, Hospitality, Tailoring and Electrical work. It was explained to the households there that the courses are only for about three months and one can be sure of getting a job at the end of these courses. They also went to the Government Higher Secondary School in the locality to explain the scheme to the school administration for the benefit of the students there.
On Sunday, 20th July 2008, Rtn. V. Balasundaram went around in the localities of M.G.R. Nagar in Velachery and Bharathi Nagar in Madipakkam, along with Rtn. K. Natarajan, Director, Youth Services, Rtn. A.S. Prabakar, Director, International Services, Rtn. Suresh and officials from Dr. Reddy\'s Foundation. They covered all the households in those areas. In addition, they also visited the local playground in an effort to establish direct contact with unemployed youth. About 170 printouts were distributed in the two localities.
